Hi guys,

My partner and I received an email from Mike McBride the other day about Stephan Dumarche and I replied to that in defence of him, which was rather ignorant on my part considering what I've experienced from Mr Dumarche and read on various message boards since.

(Apologies to Mike McBride!)

Here's my experience of it ...

I bought the book myself (I wouldn't have recommended it otherwise) and the only reason I've recommended it so highly is quite simply that it worked for me. I'm pulling in subscribers at the rate of 100-150 at the moment solely from the *small* amount of promotion I did over a period of 2-3 days, so personally I think that's fantastic - I'm sure anyone would!

However ...

1. All of our emails have gone unanswered, bar one.

2. Their line is dead - in working hours or otherwise.

3. The only reply I did receive was *very* rude. Definitely not the kind of response I'd expect from a merchant, especially considering the amount of business we've done for them.

After reading Justin Blake's comments here I'll be surprised if *anyone* wants to do business with either yourself or Mr Dumarche ever again. If I'm honest with you Justin, you've made a complete ass of yourself here and you should be holding your head in shame after responding the way you have.

As for ...

"If the course was poor quality, do you really think Peter Twist, Neil Shearing, Phil Whiley, Jodi Hans, Mike Merz and MANY other trusted names would take part in the course creation and promotion?"

Neither Phil Willey or Neil Shearing even bought the course themselves prior to recommending it to their subscribers (that's certain - I don't know about the others), so you can make your own mind up about what their 'motive' was when recommending it.

I also know for a fact that the Trading Standards Office in the UK are investigating the situation and I'd be surprised if some of these "key people" you mention (especially those in the UK) aren't questioned about their involvement with Mr Dumarche in the very near future.

With that in mind, I'll be removing any mention of this ebook from my site today and I'd strongly recommend that everyone else does the same (if you haven't already!).

"They call me the Free Ad Guru"

That's kind of funny under the circumstances - I've heard Stephan Dumarche called a lot of things over the last week, but none of them came close to "Free Ad Guru" Smiley

If any of you have any comments or questions about this please do contact me.

Best regards,

~ Rebecca

Sorry Michael, this was meant to be included in the thread below. I must have hit the wrong link when I posted.

Rebecca,

I just unsubscribed from your list earlier today when I noticed that you were promoting Stephen's products, felt I couldn't really trust any other recommendations you were making. Now that I see you are doing the right thing, I will think about resubscribing. I just checked your site though and see that the products haven't been removed yet.

Rebecca:

Thanks for "coming clean" on this. I was so impressed with your site and your posts in various forums. Somehow, I got on your list to receive information about Stephan's product. I looked it over, and, for the life of me, just didn't "get it." Then I started reading all of the negative posts. Sadly, it made me think less of you. (Sorry, but I'm human.) However, I'm glad to see that you're distancing yourself from Stephan. Certainly, all of us make mistakes. But the lack of customer service he offers is inexcusable.

Thanks again. And you *do* have a wonderful site. I highly recommend it.

...that you write an email to those who signed up under you informing them of your decision. I signed up under you, and I too have decided to remove the links from my site.

This evening I wrote to my subaffiliates letting them know what's going on (so their reputation isn't tarnished by being involved in this, and so they can act to remove their links as well if they choose).

I do hope Stephan gets his act together...there is still time to resolve all these issues.

I bought the book. Asked for refund. Not forthcoming.
Contacted ClickBank. Got refund.

If a customer asks ClickBank directly for a refund they will notify the merchant and request that the problem is handled within 48 hours. If they do not hear from you they will issue the refund.

Since December 2002, ClickBank no longer issues refunds over 90 days old.

Hi I see that lots of people are included in this negative feedback
of Stephan Ducharme product and especially his bad customer service.

My name is Milos Novakovic and i want to share my view of this man,
and what he do.

I read his eBook earlier and found some interesting stuff, but no
secrets or anything that will make me millionaire. I was newbie to
internet marketing those days and what I found in those eBook was
new to me (not all). Today i know everything and lots of thigs I
tried in myself. I will not give $197 today, or maybe will, becuse
of good Ad copy and sales letter, and if this was case i will probaly
go for refund. (because i will not discover anything so new ... like
you ...)

But,

Like thousands other people i'm affiliated with Stephan Ducharme
and promoting his free audio eBook as pre-sell tool for MoneyAtHome
and also for recruiting sub-affiliates and make residual income.

Why I'm promoting it ?

Because my mentor and good friend Jodi Hans, writen real responsive
Solo ads and follow ups. I will promote anything this man do, because
he is top writer. I beleive everybody will agree with me, because
you responded to his ads. Jodi has his own program and he is in
leads business. Also i'm reseller of his program and also have success
with real, responsive,tested ezine ads.

Stephen hired Jodi for writing, and don't ask how much
he paid him to kreate Killer Solo AD. Jodi was telling us about his
JV partner, earlier before this free ad guru boom, and how he will buy
Jet Plane soon. So Stephen is real, not some scam artist.

And i understand that lots of people are angry becauase of refund,
and especially why he don't want to answer or something. Anybody
who is online a while know that credibility is a most, and Stephen
is not stupid to scam 5-6 people and lose credibility ...

Anyway, yesterday I read in Affiliate Review - letter from Stephen about
refunds, updated version etc. Lots of you folks want to read that, and
I beleive if he anytime come to this board will say same things.

So you can find lots of answers there ...

http://www.theaffiliatereview.com/Volume%203%20issue%2019.html

And about some facts. These days Stephan-freadguru was
virtualy everywhere ... I beleive that free audio ebook is just
part of his new Updated version of 9 steps Chapter, right ? And
it showing his system in practice. Maybe i don't need to buy his
$197 or $97 ebook to see how his system works. It's using
automation and multiplication, so it's spreading like virus, by side
making some real cash for him and affiliates.

I advetised it to my small in-house list of 1.000 people and 2 solos in
2 different ezines. I got zero sales, but response was huge (more then
10%) and i signed 21 affiliates, which also giving away this eBook, and
i found that 1 of ten make sales, so i get residual comissions from
their sales. Also i beleive that price of $197 is also set because of
affiliates ... $70 and $15 commissions belong to them ...

So what I want to say, I used 20 minutes to promote it, and still
getting hits (thru sub-affiliates) and sales too. 4 sales till date
but zero refunds, and only complaint i got was about Updated new version
of eBook.

Also one good feature of his affiliate program I discoverd yesterday is
that you can download list of people which are joined into this program
under you. Not, only one level, i don't know it's going to ifinity, but
i know that i have more then 200 people under me ... I didn't do
anything with those small list, but i belive that can be created big
list real fast. (FOR FREE) And that's people which are in affiliate
marketing, and it's posiblle to create some affiliation with them in
other porgrams or something. And i'm sure lots of poeple will use that
list for spaming, but i didn't recieved any emal from my upline
(besides autoresponders), so lots of people don't know about this.
You can also see which people getting sales, so you can ask them how
they doing it ? And help to others ...

So i will wait to see that new updated version and if is real good, then
I will continue with advertising, and try to sign more people as i can.
Why not sign as affiliate to test his system, learn about it, and then
implement it for yourself .... your product and go to other niche
besides internet marketing.

But tell me, if he succeed to reach big percentage of marketers,
then sell or affiliate with them,

What he can do in niche where is not any competition. His system works.

I will wait to see, if his eBook will sell for 5-6 months. And it's better
for affilates or any other MLM program or something ...

To be true, only people wich making money online are different from others
becuse they actualy DO something and if they fail, thay will try again and
again until they succeed. So only key to success is persistance, you can
find lots of free information in dozens of ezines. In beginning of this
year, lots of big people saying only this, JUST DO IT. There is no secrets.

So I believe if you follow every "old" information in Stephan e-Book you will
Get lots of traffic and sales ... So just do it.

Somebody will pay $197 for this, because they don't know how to get traffic
And they will do nothing.

Somebody will read lots of ezines, do some researching and testing and
Such people will succeed.

Sometimes I can not believe you can buy real practical knowledge for $67 or
Less. Only need to make it in practice ... Like Phil Wiley eBook.

Because of hype People except to make money by tomorrow morning without
work.

This is just my side of viewing on his work like his affiliate.

Milos N.

PS. Sorry for long post and my bad English.

Hi Rebecca,

First, I applaud your decision to stop promoting Mr. Ducharme's ebook due to his deplorable treatment of both customers and affiliates. I also congratulate Wayne on his decision to seriously question those merchants who act in this manner, as well as those affiliates who continue to promote the work of such people.

And Rebecca, to your credit, when we exchanged emails earlier about this subject, even though you defended Mr. Ducharme and his book at that time, you did so in a courteous and professional manner. (Mr. Ducharme could take a few lessons from you in that regard.)

If some of the techniques in that book are working for you, and they are ethical and aboveboard, then by all means keep using them -- to promote your business and the products of honest, ethical marketers.

Best of luck with your business.

Peace,
Mike McBride

Hi Wayne,

I didn't know that.

Just to add insult to injury, the book can be purchased directly through ClickBank for $97 but if you do it straight through the main site the price is $197, with the $97 price only being offered after you exit the order pages.

Not good ...

Hi Marcia,

Better to be a saint ... the world would be a better place if others would follow your lead and realise that their recommendation influences a broad spectrum of people, many of which can't afford to waste money on the next "new thing" that comes along.

Stick to your guns, refuse to work on anything you don't feel comfortable with and everyone will respect you all the more for it. I'm sure that makes sense :-)

Best wishes,

~ Rebecca

As a highly visible marketing and publicity author, I have been asked by both well-known and unknown authors and promoters alike to supply a blurb for a new information product. I can tell from the way many of these requests are worded and from the minimal or no samples provided to serve as the basis of the blurb, that many of the famous names who lend their names to these products have not thoroughly read them and in many cases have not even seen the product.

I always make clear in reply that the only way I will write a blurb is if I receive a copy of the complete product in its very-close-to-final version. Again, I can tell from the reaction of the person requesting that this is not the usual policy.

I also know from the times that I have found the product to be defective in some way and told the author why I could not write a blurb that no one else had done this, even when the product was quite bad. Two people even went so far as to go on and on about what a cruel, heartless and stupid person I was because I wouldn't give them a blurb like the others had done.

I'm not trying to set myself up as a saint here, only to give you all some background on what goes on behind the scenes. It's certainly easier to go ahead and praise a product you haven't seen or used and reap the affiliate commissions... until the rare instance where your greedy words blow up in your face.

I have noticed that his product is ranked #3 in the Clickbank directory under Marketing and Advertising. However, after seeing all the problems other people are having in the forums, and having purchased his product myself earlier last year and receiving no responses from him after several emails, it makes me question anyone that is promoting his products. And I don't understand how several of the top marketers are promoting it without even having purchased it themselves. Makes me question a lot of their recommendations also.

Hi Wayne,

I was quite happy to promote his book - as I say, I didn't have a problem with recommending the product at all - but unfortunately I think we've all been let down by the poor service and his complete lack of respect for both his customers and affiliates.

To be honest with you, I've only actually received one complaint and that wasn't even from someone who joined the affiliate program or purchased the product through me, but I'm in total agreement with everyone here so I'm removing the entries in the interests of "public safety" :-)

Give me a chance though ... I was having dinner after posting my last message :-)

Hi Bruce,

After the events over the last couple of days, I really do appreciate you saying that!

It's easy to say now, but I honestly don't know Stephan Dumarche from Adam and all I actually did was recommend something which I thought had *loads* of potential. I still think the "idea" is brilliant, but it's a real, real pity the company couldn't keep up with things - which I think was the biggest cause of all the problems.

It's understandable, and damn annoying, that the affiliates have to pay the penance for a merchants lack of help and support towards their customers, but here is what I'd like to do ...

If anyone here purchased Stephan Dumarche's book as the result of my referral, please send me your sales confirmation and I will *personally* refund everyone out of my own pocket.

We've all lost out because of his - and the "big shots" who promoted his service - lack of morals, but I'm not wanting to be classed in the same bracket as the people who promoted it without buying the course, so I'll happily refund *everyone* who purchased through me directly.

And I mean the *full* amount - I've never received any commissions whatsoever, but I'll stump up for the full whack if you get in touch with me over the next few days.

Perhaps people like Neil Shearing, who started the ball rolling for Stephan, might take this as an example and do the same?

Hi Miguel,

Send me your order details and I'll forward them to Stephan. If he doesn't refund you, I will.
