Selling a very good quality product to a niche you like, with an affiliate program that pays you instantly to your PayPal so you can debit as soon as you make the sales. And remember to put your traffic through a squeeze page before sending to the sales copy, so you build your list for future business.

Hope that helps.

Hello - What is a squeeze page?

It's a slang name for a web page with the purpose of capturing a visitor's contact data, at least the email address, but usually also the first name.

You might want to start with something that is not very expensive. The best bet is e books. You can do affiliate marketing, and get paid immediately with your pay pal account. You really don't need a web site to get started with these. Check it out.

You create one. It is just like a web page but instead the first page people see is your Squeeze page.
there are a few on the web that are free, and all you need to do is modify it to suit your product. you will also need an autoresponder to capture peoples email addresses....

How do I get one of these sqeeze pages?

Hi Elliot,

The most important thing you can do online from the very begining is to build a list of opt-in subscribers.  It is much easier to turn subscribers into buyers if you can build a relationship with them because they have signed up to be on your list.

You do need 2 things that are going to cost you a little cash to get started properly.  You need a hosting account to put your squeeze pages on and you need an autoresponder.  A recommended host is http://www.hostgator.com

The second is an autoresponder account to automatically manage your list and allow you to contact your list when you have something to say.  Three popular autoresponder companies are...

http://www.aweber.com
http://www.Getresponse.com
http://www.EmailAces.com

You will then need to create a squeeze page, sometimes called a capture page, which is what I called them before they were tagged with the name squeeze page after a popular product back around 2004.  Here is an example of one of my squeeze pages so you get the idea...

http://www.BestWayToStart.com/r/EZ-Redirect.htm

A squeeze page is a mini sales letter that gives something away in exchange for the visitor's name and email address.  In the example I giveaway a redirect generator so you can mask your affiliate links.  Squeeze pages should be short and to the point and stay above what is called the fold.

The fold is the point at which you must scroll down to see the rest of the page.  When my squeeze page is longer than the fold, I add a little trick to my squeeze pages that increases my opt-in rate.  If you scroll down to the bottom of my squeeze page example, you will see a button that says... "Learn More"

When the visitor clicks the button to get more information, an information window pops up and tells them to receive more information they must add their name and email address to the form above. (or something like that).  This brings their attention back to what you want the visitor to do in the first place and that is to opt-in to your list.

You are welcome to view the source code of the example squeeze page and get the javascript for the learn more button for use on your squeeze pages also.  I hope this post has been helpful.

Best regards,
Steve Yakim

Steve! Thank you so much. Your post was most helpful. I do have few follow-up questions before I put your recommendations into practice. Where did the free product come from? Is this something you created yourself?

This question goes to anyone - How do you decide the best product to promote?

Hi Elliot,

The product I giveaway in the sample squeeze page at... URL REMOVED is one that I created myself.  It happens to be a software product but you can just write a 3 to 7 page report on the subject of the product you want to promote and give that away as a pdf file.  I think you can make pdf files with a free open source product at... http://www.openoffice.org

When you create your own product to giveaway, you are the only one people can go to and get the product.  Plus, if you write a report about the product you want to promote, it will also help people choose whether to make a purchase based on your recommendation.

The great thing about squeeze pages is that you get to send the visitor to the sales letter of the product you are promoting after the visitor fills out the form and clicks the send button.  This means that they will see the sales letter before they read your special report.

When they read your report and did not purchase the product you are trying to sell, the report may cause them to change their mind and you will still get the sale.  Plus they are now on your list you can send them other information on the subject of the product you are trying to sell and always mention that the product you are selling is the best solution to the problem they are trying to solve.

In other words, your free information is good content but the product has more and better helpful information.  In your report always give what I call helpful but incomplete information because then they still have a reason to purchase the product you are selling, which can be an affiliate product, resell rights product, or your own product.

I have a list of over 100,000 opt-in subscribers so I guess that makes me somewhat of an expert when it comes to list building.

I am going to tell you why building your list is WITHOUT A DOUBT the most profitable use of your online time and why it is absolutely CRITICAL to your success

At the average, for every 170 visitors you gain, only 2 will decide to make some purchases.  It’s a rather pathetic conversion rate, but it’s the truth we have to live with.  This is the standard even for highly successful sites.

But what if there is a way to win back the 168 visitors who have decided to walk away?  Will you take that chance?  If you know your math, I’m sure you will.

Well, there is indeed a way, and it’s called an opt-in email contact list.  With a mailing list, you could keep in touch with the visitors, who are now subscribers,  you thought you lost.  Not only that, you could build a system that would gradually convince them to try out your newer offers.

Fact #1 - Without your own large opt-in email contact list you will have to pay through the nose for any sort of targeted traffic to your website(s).  Because I have my own large opt-in list, I can’t remember the last time I had to pay for advertising to drive traffic to any of my sites.

Fact #2 - Without a large opt-in email contact list you have no way of building a relationship with your leads over time. It's a known fact that most people will not buy from you after only one exposure to your product or business…
So if you don't have a way for them to give you their email address so you can follow-up with them you are losing out on almost 99% of your sales.  That means that 99% of your efforts are a waste of your time and money.

Fact #3 - Having a large and responsive opt-in email contact list is the ultimate protection against your competition. A competitor can quickly copy your product or come out with a better one… but the one thing a competitor cannot copy is your opt-in email contact list.

Fact #4 - With a large and responsive opt-in email contact list you don't have to worry about creating your own products (if you don't want to). Amateurs lose sleep over the product… Products are a dime a dozen. Savvy marketers focus on becoming masters at building massive high quality opt-in email lists FAST.

Fact #5 - Having a large and responsive opt-in email list allows you to basically write your own paycheck. Need a quick influx of cash… then simply send a special offer to your list.

It is the mailing to a large and responsive opt-in list that produces the most results, by far, in the quickest amount of time. You can publish an email message to your list on Friday morning and literally be producing sales by Friday afternoon.

As a matter of fact, I am preparing to attend a work shop in less than three weeks and I am going to send one email to my list so I can pay for the hotel reservations.

Now you’ve gotta like that!

Fact #6 – A large and responsive opt-in email list gives you power on the Internet.  The person with the list makes all the rules.  You will find people asking you to do joint ventures, give you their products for review and make all kinds of offers with very high commission rates just so you will indorse their products to your list.

My #1 Online Rule

I am going to reveal my #1 online rule that has brought me the most success to my own online business...
My #1 Online Rule is -- Everything I do online must in some way build my list.

This is so important, let me say that again...
Everything I do online must in some way build my list.
I live by this rule every day and that is why my list has grown to over 100,000 members today.

Fact #7 - It is not hard to build a large and responsive opt-in list.  Unfortunately there is not just one list building tactic you can use to build your list.  List building takes many tactics working together and is what builds your list at a rapid pace.

However, non of these list building tactics are hard to implement.  You just have to do them every day.

One of the easiest ways to find a product to promote is to go to http://www.ClickBank.com, choose the niche or category of product you want to promote and then see which products are being promoted the most where you will make the biggest commission.  Get your affiliate link and prepare you marketing strategies.

I hope this helps,
Steve Yakim
