Surveys

I have tried the survey scene. It did not add up for me. Felt more like a waste of my valuable time.

The majority of so called data processing scams are not data processing at all.

You are placing adword ads for the company, that you have to pay for. They DO NOT PAY YOU.

Most of the people that sign up for these programs are new to the Internet and have no idea how adwords work. Because of this they end out losing more than they make. I talked to one guy that made the error of putting the word "free" into his ad not realizing how many clicks he would get (and no sales) from all of the people looking for freebies, with no cash to buy. He also didn't know enough to put a daily limit on his spending and ended out owing Google over $1000 before shutting it down the next day.

These programs also have the people, that have paid into the program, advertising their products, so they are making out like bandits while the poor sucker placing the ads are loosing their shirts.

Just keep in mind the old adage, if it sees to be too good to be true, it is!

I'd suggest getting into affiliate marketing as it is more rewarding & more fun then sitting online doing a 1 hour survey to only get paid less then $20.
Although if anyone does know of any great legit sources that pay good money for data entry & surveys I'd like to know, hehe.

It's not hard to make decent cash with this one, but it takes a long time at first. Gotta get started, but you'll learn to take them quicker and you'll make more money faster. Not too hard.

My wife signed up for a survey setup, filled out hundreds of forms, and once even won a prize of $1,000. However, that works out to about $1 per hour. There must be a better way.

However, I am not doing much better with online affiliation. It seems I always get lost trying to work out the scheme. Maybe only the first few people in a scheme make money. When the rest of us great unwashed get to it, it's too late and everyone is saturated with that form of scheme.

Data Entry - Good Or Bad?

by larskrogholt on Thu Jan 03, 2008 10:39 pm

I agree on the subject of data entry. It is always described as very lucrative, and it can be. The term data entry is just very misleading. The offers describe it as if the companies hire you to do some data entry for them. It is the other way round. You find some affiliate programs, and you pay for keywords in Google. It is called PPC or Pay Per Click, and it is correct: you have to pay for it, which the people behind these offers fail to mention in order to make it attractive.

So if you want to do this kind of "data entry" - find an ebook about how to do PPC advertising with Google Adwords. Then it becomes reasonable, and many marketers actually recommend PPC campaigns as a good way to traffic generation.

If your going to go the survey route you should do it for products because there is no money in it. Just search around and do some homework and you will come across whats right for you. If you have limited funds to invest check out my sig page

Surveys!!!

by luanncris on Sun Jan 06, 2008 4:36 am

I feel the same way about surveys, I have tried many of them and had no success. Either they didn't pay or you were not suitable for their surveys. I am glad I have finally found an income.

Brian Eger, regarding your affiliate "schemes". Maybe if you called them something else, like projects or something.. I think you're right about getting in early, though, but I'm in the same boat (so I can't help you there). John

Thanks John, you're right. I will look at them as projects.
Each project will have a start, a learning section, a growth section, the fantastic 4 (technical, content, traffic, and monetization), an analysis section and a termination section.
Start - will or will I not do this project? Do I have time for another project? When do I start this project? Is timing of the essence?
learning - what does this project do, and how?
growth - can I learn from this, what is the potential?
fantastic 4 - I am currently learning to break out the project into these areas, and not spend too much time on any one area
analysis - did it do what I wanted it to? Can I fix it? Is it worthwhile to fix, or do I apply my learnings on the next project?
termination - should I shut it down, does it stay active by itself, are the earnings slowing down past the costs?

yes I agree, money can be made from surveys but there is other ways to make money the are far better. Surveys are just one income stream of a multi faceted portfolio so to speak

I used to do surveys from your2cents.com and opinionoutpost.com and made about $10 a month for a few months but after a while it was tiring and a waste of time. When I calculated it, I was making like $3 per hour. If you do want an 'alternative' way of earning money I would suggest going to those free stuff forums and do offers for $$ I made about $20 per hour doing that but you have to make sure you cancel your memberships and you can't do too many. It's a good way to make a quick $100 or so. Check out http://www.freelunchroom.com/board/
